Why it matters
Dogs are less sensitive to avocado than some other species, but the fatty flesh may cause digestive trouble and the pit can cause choking or intestinal blockage.
How to serve it
Keep the whole fruit and guacamole away. Onion and garlic in guacamole add a separate toxic risk. Contact a vet if the pit was swallowed.
